We, at Redan Home Health, are thrilled that you gave us the opportunity to care for you and your loved ones –well, our loved ones too. All of us at Team Redan, whether our staff and management in the office or our caregivers at your residence, cannot be more honored and pleased to provide the most passionate, reliable and friendly care for you, as a member of your extended family. We assume that you also have the same feeling toward us, and would let us share with you everything and anything that goes around while we strive to maintain the highest quality care for you. As a licensed homecare provider in the State of California, we happily comply with all of the requirements set forth by the Homecare Bureau (http://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/Community-Care/Home-Care-Services). As part of such requirements, we are having all of our staff and caregivers on W-2 employment, with workers compensation insurance as well as unemployment and social security benefits.  They are also bonded and background checked, and perform their services under our general and professional services. Furthermore, their compensation is commensurate to their experience, training and expertise, but nonetheless, they are all getting paid more than minimum wage. Given the homecare services being categorized under high-risk industry, and having California as one of the most expensive states when it comes to Workers Compensation and Liability insurance, the combined overhead cost for us, as the service provider, is somewhere around 25-40% additional to our payroll. We have always been striving to maintain the quality of service by being generous in compensating our staff, believing that their happiness makes them more committed and pleasant in serving you, and that is what that matters the most. As part of the pro-labor efforts in the State of California, State has been constantly increasing the minimum wage for past few years and the trend continues in 2019 and beyond (https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/faq_minimumwage.htm). For every increase in the minimum wage, even though we are already paying all of our staff above the minimum wage, there is an expectation by our staff to see a raise in their wage. In January 1, 2019, the new minimum wage in the state of California would take into effect, making minimum wage in Los Angeles County as high as $14.25/h. We have been compromising for the past 2 years with taking care of our staff’s increasing wage at no cost to our clients. However, this most recent, yet continuing, raise in minimum wage is taking a toll on how we could maintain the services with the same quality, while the company could run financially fine.

We decided to share this with all of you, our beautiful people, and would kindly request if you would agree to help us a little in achieving our collective goal: keeping our staff happy while keeping you happy. We have updated our service rate for 2019 and the new rates would apply to our prospects and new clients ONLY. However, as a courtesy to our existing clients, we would keep the older rates in place, with only a maximum increase of up to 4.5%. The new service rates will commence to reflect in the invoice on 01/20/2019 and those afterward. We only hope for your kind consideration and support, and it will only help making all of us happy. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns, and we will be more than happy to hear thoughts and opinions from each of your personally.
